Overview

What we do

  • Rooms that work after sunset as well as by day
  • Less glare and eye strain
  • Mood and scene control without extra fixtures

Lighting decides how a room looks after sunset and how comfortable it is to cook, read, work and relax. We plan three layers in every room: ambient light to fill the space, task light where you work, and accent light that brings out texture, art and display.

The lighting plan is drawn with the furniture layout and coordinated with the false ceiling and electrical work, so switches, dimmers and smart controls are where you need them.

Ambient lighting

Cove lights, panel lights and diffused downlights that fill the room with even, glare-free light.

Material options
Recessed LED panels, cove LED strips in aluminium channels, diffused downlights.
Design considerations
Warm white (2700–3000K) suits living rooms and bedrooms; neutral white (around 4000K) suits kitchens and study areas.

Living Rooms projects

Task lighting

Focused light on kitchen counters, desks, dressing mirrors and reading corners.

Material options
Under-cabinet LED profiles, adjustable spotlights, desk and reading lamps, backlit mirrors.
Design considerations
Light the surface from in front or the side so you never work in your own shadow.

Kitchens projects

Accent & display lighting

Backlit panels, lit niches and glass-shutter display lights that add depth and highlight what you love.

Material options
Concealed LED strips, puck lights, profile lights inside glass shutters.
Design considerations
Hide the light source and use dimmers; accent light should be softer than the room’s ambient light.

Living Rooms projects

Decorative fixtures

Pendants, chandeliers and wall lights that act as the room’s jewellery.

Material options
Pendants over islands and dining tables, wall sconces, statement chandeliers for double-height spaces.
Design considerations
Hang pendants about 75–85 cm above a counter or table and size chandeliers to the room.

Kitchens projects

Controls & smart lighting

Dimmers, scene switches and app or voice control for every lighting layer.

Material options
Dimmers, two-way switches, smart switches and scene keypads.
Design considerations
Group lights into scenes — bright, evening, movie — and keep a manual switch for each circuit.

Questions

Lighting Design — FAQs

What colour temperature should I choose?

Warm white (2700–3000K) for living rooms and bedrooms, neutral white (about 4000K) for kitchens, study areas and wardrobes.

Can I add smart lighting later?

Yes, if the wiring is planned for it. We recommend deciding before the false ceiling is closed so switch boxes and wiring suit smart switches.

Do LED strips need maintenance?

LED strips last a long time, but their drivers can fail. We place drivers where they can be reached without breaking the ceiling.
